Banana Bend -- Before and After the Flood

The damage is pretty obvious. This area was one of the worst hit during the 1994 Flood. Erosion of the peninsula on the East (left) side as well as the new channel through Banana Bend and the adjacent sand pits can be seen also. What is not evident, is the number of houses that were washed away, foundation and all. Not even a septic tank left to mark where the house had been.
