Environmental Group Honors
State Rep. Bosse

Highlands Star Courier, August 31,1995

The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club named State Representative Fred Bosse as one of its seven recipients of it's 1995 state legislative awards, which go to state senators or representatives who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in working for environmental protection and in combatting anti-environmental legislation in the previous in the previous state legislative session. Representative Bosse was cited for his sponsorship of the bill transferring the Texas Natural Resourse Conservation Commission (TNRCC) hearing examiners to an independent office of state hearings examiners and for his efforts at bills aimed at undermining public participation in permit proceedings.
In addition to the above referenced legislative initiatives, Representative Bosse also sponsored a bill to set guidelines for dredging in the San Jacinto River and was instrumental in amending a number of bills to protect the environment.
